Sometimes Your Demons Chase Me
Sometimes,
your demons chase me.
I think they escape through your eyes.
The inky blackness leaks into my space, stains my soul,
and tarnishes the light
I know,
you can't always keep them inside.
I watch you struggle and fight.
By the time they've reached me,
you're barely treading water
in the wild river of your mind.
Hush,
it's alright my love.
The light will soon return.
Huddle here with me
and we will weather this storm.
Always,
forever, and till the end of time,
your pain is my pain;
just as your flesh is my flesh
and your demons are my foe.
